黃恩明(Chinese name, pronounced "Hwang, En Ming")

Research: My research focuses on efficient algorithms and systems for accelerated computing, spanning GPU and high-performance computing, large language models, electronic design automation (EDA), and domain-specific workloads.
I am also interested in hands-on system building and performance optimization. I am a two-time Overall Winner of the SC Student Cluster Competition in 2022 (Participant) and 2025 (Coach).
Bio: I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at National Taiwan University (NTU), advised by Prof. Shih-Hao Hung. Before joining NTU, I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science from National Tsing Hua University, where I worked with Prof. Chun-Yi Lee and Prof. Jerry Chou.

Coached a six-member undergraduate team to an Overall Winner title against a top international field, outperforming competitors from top-tier institutions including UCSD, Nanyang Technological University, and ETH Zurich.
Collaborated within a team of three to solve over 11 algorithmic problems. Competed with multiple teams from Tokyo University, Kyoto University, National Taiwan University, etc.
Won first place in research category at the Small Object Detection Challenge for Spotting Birds 2023 held at MVA 2023 conference. Published paper 'Ensemble Fusion for Small Object Detection' demonstrating innovative approaches to detecting small objects in challenging scenarios.
ISC23 Student Cluster Competition
2nd PlaceSecured second place in an international college student contest with participants including ETH Zurich, Nanyang Technological University, and The University of Edinburgh. Designed, built, and optimized cluster computer, excelling in HPL benchmarks, CPU & GPU performance profiling, and execution efficiency.
Achieved victory in an international contest including teams from MIT, UCSD, UT Austin, and Nanyang Technological University (9 teams total). Led cluster computer development, showcasing exceptional performance in HPL benchmarks, CPU & GPU profiling, and execution efficiency.
Ranked third among 37 international teams, competing against prestigious institutions like Beijing Tsinghua University and Nanyang Technological University. Optimized applications on Singapore's National Supercomputing Center.
Earned Gold Award by achieving top-10 among 101 teams in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). Collaborated within a team of three (team name: EX-panda) to solve 13 algorithmic problems.
